Private reflection
Raw Teacher Life journal entries are designed to be accessible only to the account holder. Organization administrators, supervisors, facilitators, and coaches should not receive routine access to private entries.
Launch status: Before public release, a qualified attorney should review and finalize the privacy policy, terms of use, data-processing agreements, and any school or district contracts.
Principle 02
Deliberate sharing
When a user wants to bring material into a coaching conversation, the system should create a separate, editable artifact containing only the information the user selects. The source journal entry should remain private.
Principle 03
Organizational use
Teacher Life is not designed as a personnel-evaluation, compliance, productivity-monitoring, or employee-surveillance tool. Reflection completion and private content should not be used as evidence of performance.
Principle 04
AI-supported features
Future AI features should send only the information needed for an action the user deliberately requests. Provider credentials should remain server-side, raw entries should not appear in analytics logs, and AI suggestions should remain editable rather than being treated as authoritative conclusions.

Data minimization and control
- Collect only the information needed to provide the selected service.
- Make deletion and sharing controls understandable and accessible.
- Separate private reflections from administrative and organizational analytics.
- Document retention, deletion, and incident-response practices before launch.
